Great fall day above the averages. Things predicted to deteriorate beginning tomorrow . . . For those of you out of the area: the city council incumbents who are flirting with bankruptcy won yesterday's election in a landslide. The GOP reportedly spent more than $20,000 in an effort to unseat them. Personally, I believe the Republicans had a real chance this time around but they squandered it badly by merely blaming others for the city's distress but not offering their own solution to the problems. We all want answers and the three contenders simply parroted Mayor Thompson in finding fault with others . . . The Penn State scandal continues to simmer and reportedly Paterno has offered to resign at the end of the season; others believe he should be gone immediately. Stay tuned . . .
