A brief sunny start turned brisk and blustery. We waved goodbye as others left town. It was a low-key start to the long holiday weekend. But the kids came for a visit later in the day--the first we had seen them in over a week. Both were talkative and animated. JJ already has plans for his Christmas gifts and we are awaiting his list; it sounds like it might be a long one. Bob made our Thanksgiving dinner tonight--ham, Cope's corn and potatoes with pumpkin pie to follow. Tomorrow he will join family and I will laze, the last free moment before the retail season begins for us. Parades, football and catnaps . . .
