Another hot and uncomfortable day. The postman brought another handful of overdue bills. I really must take the time to balance my finances and stop reading so much. But the reading is so much more pleasant . . . Another house in our neighborhood has gone up for sale. 219 Briggs Street, asking $199,900. That is the fifth or sixth home close to me that is on the market. I cannot remember a time when even one property near The Bare Wall was available for more than a week or two, and I have lived here since 1963. The economy certainly is in bad shape--or is it the chaos at City Hall that makes the buyers skittish? . . .
